Our partnerships with donor governments enable UNHCR to protect the tens of millions of people forced to flee and help them build better futures.

UNHCR has long-standing partnerships with donor governments, which provide crucial funding on an annual basis. It is through these partnerships that UNHCR can protect, save lives and build better futures for the tens of millions of refugees, internally displaced and stateless people around the world.
Voluntary contributions from government partners and the European Union (EU) are vital to our work, accounting for almost 80 per cent of our annual income in any given year.

Global Appeal
The Global Appeal provides information about UNHCR’s plans for the coming year and the funding it needs to protect, assist and empower a record number of forcibly displaced and stateless people, and to help them find solutions to their situations.
